Project Introduction - Credits

The Propeller Project was envisioned as an interpretive planning project for Art & Design Education undergraduate students at OCAD University. The intent of this project was to enhance visitor experience of the exhibition, From the Sea/From the Past at the Propeller Art Gallery, Toronto,

Exploring this particular exhibition, with this particular gallery, and its director Tom Taylor, and with artist Nancy Newton was a gift. The range of experiences provided by the gallery and artist in video, image stills, text, conversation. and artist talk exposed us to the fragile materiality and subtle depths achieved in Newton’s practice. All this enhanced and informed our work as educational strategists. We are grateful to Nancy for her generosity, talent, and passion which informed this project work.

Here on this site, students provide a range of creative and critical responses to From the Sea/From the Past at Propeller Art Gallery, Toronto during the month of October 2023. Each contributing student is named and his/her/their contribution can be viewed.

Welcome!
